In collaboration with Beatrice Behn, I co-directed, filmed, and produced this award-winning documentary offering an intimate glimpse into the lives of composer Georg Friedrich Haas and kink educator Mollena Williams-Haas. Their unconventional relationship challenges societal norms, intertwining themes of race, sexuality, and power dynamics.
This project took me across the globe and tested my limits, but it’s among my proudest achievements. It demonstrated how a film could be produced on a minimal budget and portrayed a BDSM relationship with both intimacy and respect.
The film has been showcased at numerous international festivals, including Hot Docs, DOC NYC, and Raindance, and has been released theatrically in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It is also available on various VoD platforms.

The Making Of
What sounded like a simple request — “Can you make a short stop-motion film?” — required meticulous planning. From setting up the studio and arranging each frame to coordinating fresh ingredients before they wilted, every detail mattered. The background lighting and color had to be just right — clean for post-production, yet distinct from the greens of the food. A challenging but rewarding project.
